DIVERSIFOOD project (Horizon 2020)
This collective publication from the DIVERSIFOOD Horizon 2020 project presents nine key concepts that frame the project’s approach to embedding crop diversity and networking for local high-quality food systems. The document defines and explains concepts including diversified food systems, food quality, sustainable food systems, food democracy, community management of agro-biodiversity, collaborative participative action research, trans-disciplinarity, co-evolutionary processes, and resilience. For each concept the publication describes how DIVERSIFOOD addresses it (for example by promoting multi-actor processes, exploring untapped crops and breeding approaches, supporting community seed management, and fostering social learning). The booklet also lists consortium partners and credits coordinators and designers. It aims to provide a shared vocabulary and conceptual framework to guide research, communication and local innovation in agrobiodiversity and food system practices.
