Seeds of Growth international meeting and Semínkovna 2026 conference, Prague, October 2026
This presentation describes the work of Llavors d’Ací Association in the Valencian Community to protect, recover and promote traditional agricultural biodiversity and food sovereignty. Active since 2007 with around 300 affiliates, the association focuses on locating, conserving, multiplying and sharing local open-pollinated varieties through seed banks and a network for seed exchange. Activities include preservation of traditional knowledge, training and practical workshops, publishing technical guides and resources (including a post-2024 Valencia floods guide to help farmers restore crops), and participation in conferences and trade fairs for knowledge sharing. The slides highlight practical tools such as accession documentation, a genebank database, and outreach programs aimed at both professionals and amateurs.
Key topics: seed conservation, seed banks, seed exchange, traditional varieties, food sovereignty, training, climate recovery
