Diversifood EU stakeholder forum with Policy makers, 11th of April 2018, Brussels

These are the proceedings of the Diversifood EU stakeholder forum with policy makers held in Brussels on 11 April 2018. The document presents the forum programme, a short video description, and slide links for presentations on Diversifood’s approach to cultivated biodiversity, underutilised and forgotten crops, new approaches to plant breeding for sustainable farming systems, marketing heterogeneous material, value chains from participatory plant breeding, and community biodiversity management. It records a roundtable with EU policy actors (DG AGRI, DG SANTE, TP Organics, European Seed Association and others) discussing research priorities (FP9), the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP), organic regulation, seed legislation, and the potential role of heterogeneous materials and organic varieties. Workshop outputs summarise participant views on the values of food diversity and recommendations for research, seed systems, CAP, food systems, and education, intended to feed Diversifood’s final recommendations. The proceedings include a list of participants and links to presentation slides and a video shown at the forum.
