PoleRani is a Bulgarian non-profit association for public benefit, founded in 2025 to protect endangered cultivated plants from extinction and to promote agrobiodiversity in Bulgaria. The organisation brings together scientists, agronomists, gardeners, and other practitioners working to preserve, propagate, and further develop traditional local varieties through agroecological and organic approaches. Its work combines conservation, knowledge sharing, network-building, and public awareness, with a strong focus on food independence, open access to seeds and plants, and the safeguarding of Bulgaria’s genetic and cultural heritage. PoleRani is building a national network of growers and supporters while also collaborating internationally with organisations working on seed diversity and the conservation of traditional varieties.
