We are excited to announce that registration is now open for the Let’s Liberate Diversity! Forum 2025, co-organised by Let’s Liberate Diversity!, Lycée Technicque Agricole (LTA)SEED Luxembourg, and LUGA

Join us in Luxembourg from 4 to 6 September 2025 for a three-day gathering dedicated to exploring the future of seed systems, cultivated biodiversity, and food sovereignty in Europe. The Forum offers a dynamic space to connect with farmers, seed savers, researchers, and activists through interactive workshops, public discussions, and collaborative learning.

Why participate?

Seeds and other plant reproductive materials are the foundation of all food production. As the European agricultural landscape evolves, we face a crucial choice:

  • Continue building diverse, locally adapted seed systems, rooted in farmers’ knowledge and regional traditions; or

  • Move toward increasingly centralised and privatised seed models, led by technological plant breeding.

The Let’s Liberate Diversity! Forum underscores that farmer-led seed systems and on-farm plant breeding are irreplaceable. They are essential for preserving cultivated biodiversity and ensuring resilience in the face of ecological and socio-economic change.

Forum Themes

This year’s Forum will focus on three interconnected themes:

  • Food Sovereignty and Seed Autonomy – Policy advocacy, seed-saving practices, and grassroots mobilisation.
  • Resilience in Times of Crisis – Strategies for adapting to environmental and economic challenges through resilient local food systems.
  • Building Alliances for a Sustainable Future – Strengthening cooperation between farmers, researchers, and policymakers to advance sustainable agricultural practices.

Throughout the Forum, participants will engage in sessions on plant breeding, seed production, research initiatives, legal frameworks, and intellectual property rights, all within the broader context of cultivated biodiversity.
