Gea Galluzzi is an independent specialist on genetic resources, seeds and agricultural biodiversity, based in Italy. Her work combines research, project development, policy analysis and advocacy on the conservation and sustainable use of agricultural biodiversity. Since 2016, she has collaborated with Rete Semi Rurali on research, dissemination, lobbying and advocacy related to genetic resources and seed legislation. She also provides technical support to Oxfam Novib’s Seeds for Resilience work, including programme design, data analysis, publications and proposal development. Gea previously worked with Bioversity International and FAO on genetic resources, seed systems, native crops and international policy processes. Her professional interests focus on agricultural biodiversity, sustainable food systems, plant genetic resources and the links between local practice and policy.
