The Réseau Semences Paysannes (RSP) is a French collective founded in 2003 that unites over 70 member organizations—including farmers’ associations, organic networks, artisan seed producers, and biodiversity groups—to preserve, share, and promote peasant seed varieties and associated traditional knowledge. Grounded in agroecological principles, the RSP supports community-led “Maisons des Semences” where seeds, exchange practices, and selection methods are maintained collectively. It confronts industrial seed monopolies by advancing farmer autonomy in seed production and circulation, advocating for legal recognition of peasant seeds within European seed legislation, and fostering biodiversity through education, training, and policy engagement
