On the 8th of February, 85 organizations sent an open letter calling on the European Commission to suspend its initiative to reform EU GMO legislation on GMOs until the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) issues its clarification on the status of new genomic techniques in European law, as requested by the French Council of State in November 2021.
The letter received 85 signatures in total, and the final version is attached in pdf, with the list of signatories and logos.
The letter was sent to Stella Kyriakides, Commissioner for Health and Food Safety, Virginijus Sinkevičius, Commissioner for the Environment Janusz Wojciechowski, Commissioner for Agriculture, MEPs (Agri and Envi committees), Permanent Representatives of the Member States.
