MAADJAS NGO – Estonia

The main activities of MAADJAS are

preservation, promotion, protection and demonstration of indigenous domestic animals and plants in Estonia the organisation of training courses and dissemination of information; the organisation of assistance and charity campaigns.

The objectives of the NGO Maadjas are:

  1. Preservation of intra-species diversity in indigenous domestic animals and plants and
    dissemination of information
  2. Collection and preservation of domestic animals and native plants to maintain their
    population.

In addition, provides grants and scholarships for organising and conducting studies related to the objectives of the Association; the association does organize the establishment and upgrading of the database of indigenous domestic animals. Concerning this task, the association organises the search of relevant indigenous domestic animals and plants in Estonia and neighbouring countries.The Association intermediates domestic animals, plant seeds and plants. The Association cooperates with organisations operating for similar purposes in Estonia and abroad.
