WS 4: Enhancing cultivated biodiversity through local food policies
This workshop will explore how municipalities can play a stronger role in supporting the dynamic management of cultivated biodiversity through local food policies. Drawing on experiences from Bergamo and Granollers, the session will highlight practical opportunities for local authorities to integrate cultivated biodiversity into food strategies, public policies, and territorial initiatives.
The discussion will also connect local action with broader governance frameworks, including the multilevel changes needed to better recognise and support the role of municipalities and local entities. A representative of the FAO International Seed Treaty will contribute by presenting Resolution 5/2025 and its relevance for local and territorial action.
