Community Seed Swaps
About this event
The Seed Sovereignty Programme set up the Community Seed Forum last year as a response to huge interest around community seed initiatives. It’s a place for spotlighting innovative work, peer to peer learning, and tackling common challenges community seed initiatives face. Most importantly, it’s a way for groups to connect with and support one another.
In this Seed Week special, we’ll be focusing on Community Seed Swaps. We’ll be joined by Diane Holness from Bristol Seed Swap to explore how they worked to establish a highly successful community seed swap, which has become a feature of Bristol’s calendar ‘where everyone from novice to expert growers can come together to swap seeds, listen to talks, eat cake, get advice and network’.
If you’re interested in, or have been thinking about, swapping seed from the smallest table-top event, postal seed swap or large-scale public event, join us to hear stories of others experience and gain inspiration, encouragement and information about to how to move forward. Swapping seed is an ancient, radical and beautiful act and we strongly encourage you to take pat in a local seed swaps or set up your own, no matter the scale.
