15th Let's Liberate Diversity! & 72h of Biodiversity

The stage is set for our gathering on cultivated biodiversity!
|
Saturday evening, May 23rd, marks the official opening of the Forum. We invite all participants to join us for the inauguration at 18:00 at Castello dell’Acciaiolo together with ECO-PB.

Sunday, May 24th, the program moves into high gear across three parallel spaces:

Room 1 – LiveSeeding: Highlighting key insights from the Horizon project on local food policies and living labs for the agroecological transition.
|

Room 2 – Seed Policy & Rights: Addressing seeds as a "commons," democratic systems, EU regulatory reform, and the critical debates on NGTs and patents.
|

|
Room 3 – Community & Movements: Featuring diverse grassroots initiatives from across the globe, concluding with a session on international coalition-building.
|
On Monday, May 25th, we take the conversation outdoors for our field visits near Florence!
|
The Forum promises to be a again a space for exchange, learning, and alliance-building, where seeds are not only agricultural resources but collective, cultural, and political visions.
|

Alongside the 15th LLD gathering in Italy, a second EC-LLD forum in partnership with Landsorten will take place directly in the fields in Denmark.
|
Dig into the world of cereal diversity!
The European Grain Festival and Let's Cultivate Diversity! 2026 in Denmark combines parallel sessions of baking workshops, cooking demos, tastings, field demonstrations, poster sessions and lectures. You will meet and network with experienced bakers, farmers, chefs, processors, breeders and researchers from all over Europe. If you aim to produce quality cereal and cereal based food, this is the place to be. At the heart of the festival you will find a demonstration field displaying hundreds of diverse grain varieties from all over Europe.

The Blacked-Out Ingredients campaign warns that EU labels may soon no longer indicate whether food contains altered DNA, and invites people across Europe to take action, contact MEPs, and share the campaign materials widely.
