We are pleased to invite you to the final event of the IFOAM EU project ‘Keeping GMOs out of food’, which will be dedicated to new genetic engineering techniques. It will be the chance to review the achievements of the project these last four years, and to prepare the next steps to efficiently protect the organic sector from GMO contamination.
The morning will be dedicated to a debate on new genetic engineering techniques with the main organizations representing the agriculture sector in Brussels (IFOAM EU, Via Campesina, Copa Cogeca) and possibly the European Commission. The debate will be opened by Beatrix Tappeser, State Secretary of the German State of Hessen but also former head of biosafety for the German environmental agency.
The afternoon will be dedicated to a more strategic discussion amongst partners and members of IFOAM EU. The event will not be public, but upon invitation only. Please find here the provisional agenda.
The meeting will take place the 11th of July 2018 (9.30 to 17.00) at Business Europe (Avenue de Cortenbergh 168, 1000 Brussels). To participate to this day dedicated to new genetic engineering techniques you are kindly invited to register here before 2nd of July 2018. The number of places is limited!
