This year, more than ever, our key focus is to strengthen the relationships and connections within our vibrant seed community. The benefits of a strong, interconnected community are manifold. By building robust networks, we enable the exchange of knowledge, support collaborative projects, amplify our voices, and enhance our collective resilience. The Let?s Liberate Diversity Forum is not just an event; it?s a crucial gathering that allows us to meet face-to-face, share experiences, and forge bonds that will support our mission to preserve and promote agricultural biodiversity. We encourage everyone to register as soon as possible to secure your spot and join us in sharing this experience with international participants. Soon the draft program will be out!!
|
In addition to our forum, EC-LLD is excited to announce two new projects designed to further strengthen the seed-savers and seed networks communities, as well as our relationships with other actors involved in seed and cultivated diversity topics. The first project is an Erasmus+ initiative called "DiverSeedPaths - Seeds and Migrants", and the second is "Cultivating Communities: Engagement for Food and Seed Systems Transformation in Europe" financed by a private foundation.

We look forward to seeing you in Antibes (France) in October 2024!

The EU Commission's original proposal on seed law threatens crop diversity. The amended text adopted by the European Parliament is largely in favour of traditional and rare varieties. The Council's position is currently still being negotiated but appears to be significantly worse than the European Parliament's position. We therefore need the commitment of as many citizens as possible over the coming months to save diversity!
