Seeds and other plant reproductive material are the basis of all food production.
|
The future perspectives outlined in the European Green New Deal roughly point in two directions:
|
- Diversity of traditional regional varieties with continuous adaptation and development processes on the farms and in the gardens
- Technological plant breeding with privatised varieties in an advancing centralisation process.
The purpose of the 14th edition of the Let's Liberate Diversity! Forum is to show that traditional on-farm plant breeding and variety development are indispensable and cannot be substituted by any technology, however advanced. The Forum will provide the participants and visitors with valuable information on plant breeding, seed production, practical experience, research projects, seed laws and property rights in the broad context of cultivated biodiversity.
