EDITORIAL
It is time for the last effort to answer the EU seed marketing legislation Impact Assessment survey. To help you orient yourself and understand the views of the different actors and EC-LLD members, we have collected some of the position papers together.

Austria, Spain, France, Luxembourg, Benelux, Sweden but also ECVC, Geneva Academy, and more to understand the possible future for seed diversity and its circulation. Make your comment!

It is with great pleasure that we INVITE you to the next Let's Liberate Diversity! meeting. Since 2005, there have been 10 LLD annual meetings promoted by EC-LLD and hosted in different European countries. These events aimed to develop the theme of agricultural diversity by linking the work and experiences of the actors involved and encouraging the horizontal dissemination of knowledge and know-how, avoiding the top-down approach.

Farmers, researchers, and national and international experts take turns holding seminars and meetings sharing innovation and practices. Moreover, we will exchange seeds and varieties among farmers, allowing a "contamination" of varieties.

Recent patent research by No Patents on Seeds! shows that the European Patent Office (EPO) is about to grant Carlsberg (EP1727905) another patent on beer and barley. Currently, an increasing number of patent applications are being filed for conventionally-bred barley and the beer brewed thereof.
